New Deal for Communities, Aston, Birmingham 2000 – 2001
Axis was employed as urban design and community consultants by Aston Pride, the community based body which successfully won £50 million of NDC money for the regeneration of this historic but deprived inner city area.
Working with management consultants Vantagepoint, we proposed the integration into the area of new sports and leisure developments which could provide both amenities for local people, and jobs and economic investment. These were related to existing resources such as Aston Hall and Park, the River Tame, and Salford Park and Lake.
